Question

What's up with the Snow Drags for Feb 8th 2015???

Answer

It is with a sense of sadness that we have to announce that our Winter Snow Drags will be CANCELED. The club would like to thank everyone that contributed to our races for the last 10+ years; you have provided much needed help for our trails and a great atmosphere for local racing in our area. At this time it looks like we will be putting our Port-a-Tree Timing system and track support stuff up for sale. We would welcome helping another club or group to keep a local race going. We had great run and will have many memories to look back on and do some bar stool racing. Without our sponsors over the years we could have never kept it going this long. To all of them a HUGE Thank You: Crabb Oil, Pioneer Motorsport, Previtys Auto Wrecking, Upstate Automotive Group, Schwabb Aggregates, Kevin Klispie Motorsports, Performance Transmissions, Jan-Cen, Hebler Sales and Service, Willey Well Drilling, and All Around Performance. If anyone has any questions or might know someone interested in the l

Question

Now that the season of riding has begun (ya!), we turn our thoughts to the Snow Drags in Feb. As a club we have some concerns with the new requirements from ISR on insurance for this coming year. We would like your comments on how this might impact your participation at the event. As we understand, the cost for insurance is price two ways: 1st being a yearly fee of $150/Racer and $100/crew member, 2nd $25/day for either racer or crew member in the pits. All of this money would have to be sent in for the insurance. This would be on top of what the standard fee for insurance the club has to have, (which they say will be a little cheaper). The club feels we could not add an additional charge to enter the pits, so we would have to try and make ends meet with the spectator and food sales to cover the rest of the cost of putting on the race. In the past we have had AWSOME partners that have provided sponsorship to help with our fixed cost, but this may be asking too much. We are not looking

Answer

We are looking for the Racer's point of view on this one.....We feel that we would lose some of ride in and and off the trail races that have supported our snow race in the past??? Also ALL Racer MUST have ISR number that will require you to do online before the race.

Question

For rules and lineup

Answer

Check out website forms: we're running the same line up as last year and following the same rules....

Question

How is the Track from the rain? and Will you run if rain moves in?

Answer

The starting line was prep'd and rolled on Wed. night....than we covered with tarps. This keeps most of the water off and we will take top layer off if needed Sun. morning. Unless we get lightening of a deluge of rain the event will go rain or shine. I will post an updated Sat. and again Sun morning.

Question

What has been done to the track from last year?

Answer

We have focus on getting better grass cover on the whole track this year...you won't have to run over fresh dirt in the shut down lanes this year. Also the grass has grown in over the driveway better. The starting line has been tilled and graded to try to get more moisture into the track before race day. Next year we will focus on redoing the shut down.

Question

Answer

The only classes they are allowed in are: ISR (Stock, Improved, Modified), Outlaw Trail King, and the "Classic" classes. Also juniors are all run together to do the lower entry numbers....

Question

What are your Modified Rules???

Answer

We run the regular ISR Improved Stock and Modified classes.....See the ISR PDF on our race site for all the saftey requirements and Classes. For the Amateurs this year we do have a "Trail Stock" that will allow Reeds and Cans only... .Don;t forget if you are going to run a "Mod" sled please have all the saftey guards in place before coming through saftey tech. (ie...Enclosed Clutch Guard and rear tunnel enclosures....and of course the mandatory teather switch!!!

Question

Can I run a Polaris IQR (or other factory race sled) in the Stock Amateur Classes?

Answer

No. We try to keep the Amateur classes for the people new to racing and for the sleds that ride in off the trail (I know some of you convert the race sleds over to trail use!). Those sleds are more than welcome in the regular ISR Stock classes.... Which is more than some organization do...they have a sperate class for the race sleds altogether.

Question

Where are the Vintage Classes???

Answer

For the winter race we have added a Classic class for sleds up to 2002 model year to get some of the old race sleds back in the game. This Fall we ran the true Vintage sleds with the ATV race and will look to do that again this year.....
